News From Turkey Process Has Started For Contract Transfer SHELL, BOSPHORUS GAZ, ENERCO and AVRASYA are announced to be entitled to negotiate with Russia for a total of l 6 ıots at the table on the bidding held for Natura! gas Exportation Contracts' transfer that is held for privatization of 16 billion m3 of BOTAŞ General Directorate's contracted annual 25 billion m3 natura! gas. Offers are placed only for Natura!Gas Purchasing and Selling Contract signed between Russia and Turkey on February l 8 1998 which is also known as Turusgaz in public among other 6 contracts that are also placed for biddings. For Turusgaz pipeline, SHELL, BOSPHORUS GAZ, ENERCO and AVRASYA companies placed offers whereas HABAŞ and PETROL OFİSİ companies presented Grateful Letters. Highest offer for Turusgaz Pipeline was placed offering 2.010.000 USD for l lot from SHELL Company. The other companies offering bids for this line, BOSPHORUS GAZ offered 1.810.000 USD for 3 lots, ENERCO offered l .600.000 USD per l lot of l O lots in total to be purchased, and AVRASYA Company offered 910.000 USD per l ıot of 5 lots in total to be purchased. No offers were placed for Blue Stream, Western Line, lranian Gas and LNG contracts received from Algeria and Nigeria which were also placed for biddings on their contract transfer procedures. Natural gas goes to east EMRA plans to conclude natural gas biddings for 50 different regions until the end of 2006. Thus the number of cities in Turkey which are enabled to consume natural gas will be 55 in total in 2006. it is projected that natural gas consumption will start in cities in 2006 especially in cities in Black Sea, Eastern and Southern Eastern Anatolia Regions. EMRA President Yusuf Günay announced the current situation for natura! gas consumption and authority's bidding program for 2006. Günay stated that they have concluded bidding projects for l 5 cities this year including industrialized cities like İzmi r, Gaziantep, Tekirdağ, Edirne, Kahramanmaraş and Denizli, "We will receive offers for biddings for Şanlıurfa in November, Isparta and Burdur in December and finish biddings for 18 cities within this year. in 2006, we will raise the bar higher and plan to conclude biddings for 24 cities. Thus in 3 years bidding contracts for 55 cities in total will be concluded". İGDAŞ prepares to cut third cake İGDAŞ sets a new record with its 380 thousand subscribers registered in 2005 year only. in the reports prepared for the end of the year, it is stated that the hope is that this number will increase and end up at the level of 390 thousand subscribers. İGDAŞ received 338 thousand subscribers by the end of 2004 which was the highest number of subscribers so far in its history. The committee received written offers in sealed envelopes from companies and has chosen the 3 lowest bidding companies are invited to underbidding session which are Aksa with 0,003 cents, ERS with 0.004 centsand Kuzu Toplu Konut with 0.007 cents where offers were placed orally.
