According to !his, the estimation of the national natura! gas consumption in 2008 is determined as 37.5 billion cubic meters (399 billion kWh) based on the upper thermal value of the natura! gas as 9155 kcal/m3 in accordance with the relevant article of Natura! Gas Market Law no 4646 and some articles of Natura! Gas Market License Regulation. EMRA Set the Natural Gas Price Free EMRA revoked "price formulas", which specify the upper limit tor LNG sales with natura! gas wholesale and are in force from 2002. By this decision, prices of the natura\ gas and LNG shall be specified freely among sellers and buyers. This is related with the plants producing electric by natura\ gas. Because, buying gas in a free pricing market will affect their cost. Before now, wholesale price was being determined according to the weighted purchase price of the natura! gas and the changes of foreign exchanges. EMRA has specified an upper price limit about 0 .440 YTL per cubic meters tor the wholesale in 2007 January.
